East Africa Gorilla & Safari Experience

An outstanding thriller in the wild including gorilla watching in Rwanda, chimpanzees in Uganda, along with rhinos and elephants in Kenya. Approximately 800 mountain gorillas exist globally in the wild today. They are found in Rwanda, DRC, and Uganda. In DRC and Rwanda, gorillas live in similar ecosystems/areas. The gorilla species found in these three areas are called highland gorillas.

The volcanoes symbolizes grit, the magnificent creatures are pure joy, native people are epitome of humility, and the cuisine divine. Led by a ranger observe the chimps and the gorillas, interact with the locals, learn the process of drum making and shop till you drop for the souvenirs.

1 Nights in Kigali, Rwanda

A city with vibrant restaurants and exciting nightlife, Kigali also has a plethora of historical sites that narrates the sad stories of genocide.
Day 1

If you have time to spare before the beginning of the trip, grab the chance to explore the innumerable attractions of the city such as Kigali genocide memorial center, Caplaki Crafts Village and Inema Art Center.

3 Nights in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

The volcanoes and highlands of the park is densely blanketed with lush rainforest and gorillas favorite snack - bamboo. The national park is also home to other species like buffaloes, bushbucks, golden monkeys, hyenas, numerous bird species, and some elephants
Day 2

Visit the Genocide Memorial which serves as a permanent memorial to those who fell victim to the genocide in 1994.The centre opened on the tenth anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide, in April 2004, and was built on a site where more than 250,000 people are buried. Followed by a walk in the Nyamirambo Township and enjoy an authentic traditional lunch at the women's center. Arrive at the lodge with stunning volcanic views, located outside the national park.

Day 3

A ranger/guide will lead the way into the national park to help you locate and observe the endangered golden monkeys, found in groups of 20-80. Return to visit the Karisoke Research Center to learn more about the gorilla protection project. Later in the evening, get a deeper insight through a lecture delivered by one of the head wardens of the park.

Day 4

Meet the ranger at the park early morning for a brief orientation. The duration of your trek depends on the location of the gorilla family. Observe the magnificent creatures for an hour and return to the lodge for lunch. Visit the nearby village to take a peek at the lives of locals.

3 Nights in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda

Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to Uganda's largest wildlife population. Hippos and Nile crocodiles are normally sighted by the travelers on boat in the Kazinga Channel.
Day 5

Cross into Uganda on a scenic drive after breakfast, to arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park late afternoon. 

There is little accommodation inside the national park that fits our upgraded service level. Most of the mid-range lodges are adjacent to the park but it can often take approx. an hour to reach the park gates due to poor road logistics and conditions. For this reason there is a lot of driving to get to/from activities within the national park area.

Day 6

Search for the ckeeky chimpanzees with a ranger in the lush Kalinzu Forest Reserve. In the afternoon look for the buffalo, elephants, giant forest hogs, hyenas, leopards, lions, and warthogs on a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 7

Early morning is the best time to view game. Make the most of it, as you begin early for a game drive at the park. After lunch, a little bit of relaxed game viewing as you cruise down the Kazinga Channel to view birds, hippos, and elephants or big cats.

1 Nights in Entebbe, Uganda

Uganda is one of the few privileged countries in the world where you can cross the imaginary line that divides the earth into two.
Day 8

Drive to Entebbe after breakfast, with a stop at the equator and watch a demonstration on how water swirls in opposite directions in the northern and southern hemispheres. Stop over at the royal drum maker's workshop to learn the process of making drums using animal skin and a short musical presentation.

1 Nights in Nairobi, Kenya

Nairobi is a bustling city, a concrete jungle and a place of constant activity when compared to the serenity, unspoilt beauty in other parts of the country.
Day 9

Fly from Entebbe to Nairobi and explore the city if time permits. Return to the lodge on time for another brief on the days ahead and meet the fellow safari enthusiasts.

2 Nights in Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Welcome to the heart and soul of Kenya - Masai Mara.
Day 10

Your lodge is at the heart of the reserve. Embark on a game drive in the evening to spot some big cats – cheetahs, leopards and lions. A visit to Kenya is not complete without a visit to the Masai Mara game reserve. The chances of sighting Big 5 is high here, due to the large concentration of animals.

Day 11

With back to back morning and afternoon game drives, the probability of catching predator action is high. Return to the camp for some cool drinks and great views of sunset across the plains.

Opt for a baloon safari adventure for an hour as dawn breaks over Masai Mara at an additional cost

1 Nights in Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya

Lake Nakuru is one of the three inter-linked lakes in the Rift Valley Province. It is also one of the world's most famous locations to spot millions of flamingos coming to feed on the abundant algae.
Day 12

The journey from Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru is a long and beautyful one. Enroute visit the fascinating craft centre and farm. Feast on the delicious farm-to-table lunch at Ubuntu Cafe. Ubuntu Cafe is true social enterprise in the heart of Kenya, this initiative empowers the community, creating over 400 sustainable local jobs for mothers of children with disabilities, and supporting pediatric health and education programs in the region.

After lunch, enjoy a game drive late afternoon and spot the resident black and white rhinos, buffalo and impala.

Day 13

An early morning game safari at the Lake Nakuru National Park before you depart to the famed Amboseli National Park, at the foot of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. 

Day 14

A fascinating day with back to back game drives to visit the 1500 odd elephants residing in the park. Gain a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding poaching and elephant conservation during a lecture by an accredited speaker from the Kenya Wildlife Service.

Meet the resident Maasai en route as you look out for more animals.

A return from paradise to reality as you make your way to Nairobi. Shop and socialize before you have to head home.
Day 15

Grab hold of the opportunity to watch the spectacular sunrise over the vast plains on the last day of your vacation at Amboseli. Return to Nairobi in the afternoon and opt for a farewell dinner with the other guests at The Carnivore Restaurant. 

Feast on a range of familiar and exotic meats roasted over an open flame barbecue pit. Ever wanted to try ostrich or crocodile? Here's your chance to do so (at a world-renowned restaurant, at that). Cost 43-82 USD per person.

Day 16
