Camp Moremi is shaded from the African sun by a forest of tall Ebony trees. Its elegant thatch and timber lodge boasts an elevated main lounge, wildlife reference library, cocktail bar and a dining area which serves individually plated starters and desserts and buffet-style main courses. An elevated viewing platform provides a breath-taking panorama of Xakanaxa Lagoon. Guests can enjoy breakfast, brunch and afternoon tea in the thatched boma, relax on the sundeck by the secluded swimming pool and spend some time exploring the curio shop.
At the point where the life-giving waters of the Okavango Delta meet the vast plains of the Kalahari Desert, Mother Nature has created a sanctuary of Mopane forests, open grasslands, seasonal floodplains and riverine habitats, resulting in one of the most magnificent and welcoming animal environments in all of Africa. Activities centre around tracking big game on morning and afternoon game drives by open 4x4 safari vehicle in the Moremi Game Reserve, renowned for frequent sightings of lion, leopard and cheetah, as well as wild dog, whose numbers are so rapidly dwindling in other areas. Exploring the Xakanaxa Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by motorboat, affords guests exceptional bird-watching opportunities, as birdlife is prolific and varied, ranging from water birds to shy forest dwellers.
